Job Summary
Caledonia Fire Protection Ltd is a full-service fire protection company who carries out inspections, repairs and installations on fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, backflow preventers and fire hydrants.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial facilities. The Fire Alarm Technician will ensure that all systems comply with safety standards and operate reliably to protect lives and property.
Duties
- Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Conduct annual inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.
- Test and troubleshoot alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Repair or replace defective components such as sensors, wiring, or control modules
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate inspection, testing and repair of various fire protection services & equipment on-site at customer locations.
- Perform basic services: fire extinguishers, fire alarms and emergency lights. Adhering to the ASTTBC certification, BC Fire Code and Municipality guidelines.
- Proven experience with fire alarm systems or related electrical work is preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments including commercial buildings or industrial sites.
Assets
- Previous experience as an alarm technician or in a related field.
- Mechanical knowledge related to sensors, control panels, and mechanical components of fire alarm systems.

- Clean drivers abstract.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
