Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the competency to plan for, install, maintain and repair systems that integrate electrical and mechanical components in a manner that will keep production equipment operating efficiently with no downtime.
Responsibilities
INSTALLATION:
- Devise viable plans (sketches, estimates, etc.) for installations
- Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical blueprints
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians for system integration
- Install and maintain control wiring, panels and equipment
- Work directly with suppliers/technicians for execution of assembly, troubleshooting and testing of new equipment builds
- Train equipment operators
INSPECTION & REPAIR:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and install electrical and mechanical components including but not limited to motors, sensors, drives and wire-harness assemblies to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Perform PLC programming, diagnostics and modifications to configure or re-set automation equipment
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
- Replace and align mechanical components such as belts, gears and actuators
- Develop and follow preventative maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and system upgrades
- Comply with workplace safety and food safety regulations including ensuring that equipment is properly maintained to food safety standards.
Other Skills:
- 3-year Electro-mechanical Technologist Diploma
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
- Strong knowledge of PLC and automation systems, troubleshooting, control wiring, pneumatics and mechanical work
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience welding (MIG, TIG, or gas)
- Experience Machining (drill press, mill, lathe)
- Experience with packaging equipment
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing
- Forklift License
- Working at Heights
- Ability and willingness to continuously learn about trends in the industry
- Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
- Able to work toward objectives under general direction and guidance
- Able to problem-solve and make decisions based on business needs
- Interpersonal skills required for interaction with internal and external customers
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
