RESPONSIBILTIES
Reporting to senior management, the Structural Engineer will:
- Perform structural calculations and prepare specifications and detailed designs in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Lead and supervise the production of structural design drawings.
- Manage and deliver multidisciplinary engineering projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and professional service.
- Conduct or oversee site inspections, condition assessments, and structural investigations.
- Evaluate existing structures and provide recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
- Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and presentations.
- Act as Contract Administrator during construction and perform site reviews as required.
- Review contractor shop drawings and respond to construction-related inquiries.
- Develop project budgets, proposals, and scopes of work for new opportunities.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
- Perform quality control reviews of structural engineering services.
- Mentor and manage junior and intermediate engineers, technicians, and support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is considered an asset).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and applicable standards for concrete, steel, and wood structures.
- Advanced experience with structural analysis and design software.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation experience is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the design of concrete, steel, and wood structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for travel to project sites.

Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
