We are expanding our team and looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Translator to join us remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate translation and revision of complex legal, corporate, and financial documents. This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in Canada.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Translator to lead our translation services. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for translating intricate corporate documents, ensuring precision, cultural nuance, and consistency. You will be a critical link between our firm and our international clients, applying your linguistic expertise to produce high-quality work. The role also involves leading, guiding, and mentoring other translators.
What You Will Do
- Translate complex and sensitive documents from English into the target language and vice versa with precision and nuance
- Edit, standardize, and proofread translated material prepared by other employees and contractors to ensure quality and consistency
- Organize translated material according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Research legal, technical, and financial phraseology pertinent to the assigned projects
- Create writing instructions, reference, and maintenance manuals for the translation service team
- Contribute to creating and enriching an in-house terminology database
- Maintain confidentiality of the company documents and correspondences
- Contribute to developing and coaching other translators in a less senior role
- Prepare translation reports and documentation
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field
- Several years of experience in a translation role, with a focus on legal or corporate documents
- Strong command of the target language and English
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong research skills and the ability to work independently
- Proficient with translation software and tools
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
