Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and artistic Dental Ceramist to join our premium dental laboratory team at Astro Dental Art in Calgary.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the layering, contouring, staining, and glazing of high-quality ceramic restorations including PFM, Zirconia, and IPS e.max. This role requires strong esthetic sense, morphology knowledge, and attention to detail to achieve natural and functional restorative outcomes.
Duties
- Perform porcelain layering and buildup on PFM, Zirconia, and IPS e.max restorations
- Contour anatomy and morphology to achieve natural tooth form and esthetics
- Apply staining and glazing to match shade, translucency, and surface texture
- Interpret prescriptions, shade information, and reference photos from dentists
- Collaborate with CAD/CAM and crown & bridge departments to achieve optimal results
- Adjust occlusion and proximal contacts during ceramic finishing
- Conduct esthetic and functional quality control before case release
- Maintain consistency in shade matching and esthetic standards
- Follow laboratory protocols and production timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Experience
- Minimum 1+ years experience as a Dental Ceramist preferred
- Strong experience with anterior and posterior ceramic restorations
- Proficiency in layering ceramics for PFM, Zirconia, and IPS e.max
- Excellent understanding of tooth morphology, shade, and esthetics
- Ability to read prescriptions and shade guides accurately
- High attention to detail and artistic skill
- Ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented environment
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Pay: $20.00-$55.00 per hour
