Duties
- Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine
- Utilize GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and fleet management tools to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routing strategies
- Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to track shipments, freight details, and delivery statuses
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer requirements
- Analyze logistical data to identify inefficiencies or delays, proposing solutions to improve overall supply chain flow
- Oversee freight movement within 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environments, coordinating with shipping & receiving teams for seamless operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dispatching within transportation or logistics sectors; familiarity with freight operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, supply chain processes, and logistics management tools such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to fleet management, shipping schedules, and delivery routes
- Proficiency in using GPS devices, GIS software, and multi-line phone systems for effective communication and tracking
- Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for engaging with drivers, clients, and team members
- Basic typing skills for quick documentation; familiarity with AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus
