Shine‑A‑Blind has been in business since 1989, and our reputation rests on quality and reliability. We’re at a point of growth and we need someone who wants to grow with us.
This is not a “sit‑and‑wait” job. The warehouse needs organization, our customers' blinds need cleaning and repair, and our lead installer needs backup. If you’re the type of person who sees a messy space and wants to fix it, who doesn’t mind driving to different cities each day, and who is looking for a long‑term role where you can learn a trade and earn more as you learn.
You will start by learning blind cleaning, basic repairs, and warehouse systems. As you prove reliable, you’ll be trained to drive a company van, handle on‑site service calls, assist with installations, and eventually become an installer yourself, one of our highest‑paid roles.
This is a full‑time position for someone who wants 30‑40 hours a week, but we can be flexible during training. The shop is open 7:30am‑4pm, Monday to Friday, and you will regularly travel to job sites across Surrey, Langley, Delta, Vancouver, the Tri‑Cities, and beyond.
Duties
- Deep‑clean blinds using ultrasonic and hand‑cleaning methods
- Perform basic repairs – cord replacement, slat replacement, tilt mechanism fixes
- Organize the warehouse: label shelves, arrange stock, dispose of garbage, sweep etc.
- Prepare orders for delivery, load and unload vans
- Provide excellent customer service
- Install and service a variety of window coverings, including blinds, shades, shutters, and draperies.
- Use hand tools and power tools to measure, repair, cut, and install window treatments accurately.
- Ride along with our lead installer to learn installation, measuring, and customer interaction
- Drive a company van to client homes and commercial sites
- Carry boxes of blinds (30 - 75 lbs) into buildings and units
- Document job notes (e.g. damage and repair needs) with photos and simple reports
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License , a clean abstract, and is comfortable driving and parking a work van
- Is reliable, punctual, communicates well, and doesn’t need to be micromanaged
- Is able to perform essential physical tasks: reaching overhead up to 8 feet without a ladder, lifting up to 30-70 lbs several times a day, and standing for extended periods
- Has patience, excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Has basic mechanical aptitude or is excited to learn with the ability to take feedback onboard
- Wants a job that could become a career: this business is ready to grow and you'll be in prime position to grow along with it
- Prior experience working with window treatments or similar home improvement products is advantageous but not required
- Has a strong work ethic and is motivated to earn more through skill and performance based raises

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
