Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with various tools and machinery, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Experience in dealership settings, heavy equipment operation, or industrial maintenance is highly desirable. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
- Repair or replace mechanical components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or industrial machinery as needed for vehicle or equipment servicing.
- Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with the assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and solutions clearly to clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or service technician; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, and industrial machinery maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic schematics.
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, Caterpillar machinery, farm equipment, HVAC systems, or similar industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on vehicles or machinery in various positions.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics within automotive or industrial contexts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Good communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation or specialized trades are advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
