We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing high-quality dishes and supporting the overall food service process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, food safety, and delivering excellent customer experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Cook menu items with precision, maintaining consistency and quality
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure timely service
- Stock supplies and notify management of inventory needs
- Adhere to all restaurant policies regarding serving, food handling, and safety protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and presentation standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Prior experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
