Sun Rich Canada is looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Millwright Apprentice to join our team in Richmond, BC.
The Millwright Apprentice is responsible for helping the Maintenance team with the safe completion of all maintenance-related activities for the facility. The individual applying for this position should have the drive to achieve results in a manner that is friendly and collaborative while maintaining the quality and standards set forth by Sun Rich Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and managing all facility maintenance issues.
- Conducting preventative maintenance on equipment as per schedule.
- Monitoring and managing all contractor work.
- Assisting Maintenance Manager and Operations leadership team with technical assessment of capital projects as per site plan.
- Ensuring appropriate pre-start assessments are completed on all new and modified equipment.
- Supporting and driving culture of continuous improvement at Sun Rich to create efficiencies and add value for the customer(s).
- Looking for ways to become more efficient and improve processes.
- Supporting the profile of safety and increase the focus on safety within the facility by driving action items to completion.
- Ensuring self & production personnel comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Assisting with the management and control of maintenance expenses.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be a Millwright Apprentice Level 2 or Millwright Apprentice Level 3
- Experience in maintenance in a food manufacturing/production plant is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of gearbox/hubs, pneumatic and cylinder rebuild
- Minor electrical knowledge of control
