About the Role
Al-Manarat is seeking a motivated and responsible Sports Coordinator & Hallway Supervisor to help build a strong, positive, and values-based sports culture for our middle school and high school students.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with youth, understands Islamic school values, and can keep students active, disciplined, respectful, and excited about sports throughout the school year.
The successful candidate will coordinate sports activities, especially soccer, support friendly competitions with other Islamic schools, supervise students during afternoon hours, and help maintain a safe, respectful, and energetic school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sports Coordination
- Plan and coordinate year-round sports activities for middle school and high school students.
- Organize soccer practices, tournaments, friendly matches, and inter-school games with other Islamic schools.
- Build positive relationships with other Islamic schools for sports collaboration and competitions.
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, confidence, and school spirit.
- Help students develop a love for fitness, healthy competition, and active living.
- Support sports events, tryouts, team selection, and game-day preparation.
- Keep students motivated and engaged in sports throughout the year.
Hallway & Student Supervision
- Supervise hallways, common areas, and student movement from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Maintain order, safety, and respectful behaviour during school hours and dismissal.
- Guide students with firmness, patience, and positive character-building.
- Support obedience, discipline, punctuality, and respectful conduct.
- Work with school administration to address student behaviour concerns professionally.
- Ensure students follow school rules and Islamic values in speech, dress, conduct, and interaction.
Islamic School Values
- Model good character, respect, humility, responsibility, and Islamic manners.
- Encourage students to balance confidence with adab, obedience, and self-control.
- Help create a positive environment where students feel proud to represent their Islamic school.
- Promote sportsmanship rooted in Islamic values: fairness, respect, modesty, teamwork, and discipline.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching or coordinating sports, especially soccer.
- Experience working with middle school or high school students.
- Strong leadership, communication, and supervision skills.
- Ability to manage student behaviour calmly and confidently.
- Understanding of Islamic school values and student expectations.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and energetic.
- Ability to plan activities and coordinate with staff, students, and other schools.
- First Aid/CPR is an asset.
- Coaching certification or sports background is an asset.

The ideal candidate is someone who can bring energy to the school, build sports spirit, supervise students responsibly, and guide young people with both discipline and care. We are looking for someone who understands that sports in an Islamic school should build not only skill and fitness, but also character, obedience, teamwork, respect, and confidence.
