Role Overview
As the Account Manager – Sales for ColdFront Calgary, you will focus on building and expanding the customer base for transport refrigeration units, APUs, and related products and services. This role is for a proactive salesperson who enjoys prospecting, opening new doors, and converting opportunities into long-term accounts.
You will identify target fleets, cold chain logistics companies, and commercial operators, while growing with existing customers through solution selling and consistent follow-up. You will also work closely with service, parts, and administration teams to deliver a strong customer experience and support long-term account growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively seek out and engage cold chain logistics companies and fleets running refrigerated units and APUs in the Alberta market.
- Prospect through cold calls, site visits, networking, referrals, and follow-up on leads.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline in the CRM, from lead to close.
- Prepare and present proposals and quotations for reefers, APUs, and related products and services.
- Negotiate terms and close new customer accounts, with a focus on multi-unit and repeat business opportunities.
Account Growth and Retention
- Own a portfolio of accounts as the primary point of contact, while driving additional sales and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
- Review customer fleets and service activity to identify upgrade, replacement, and add-on opportunities.
- Position ColdFront’s transport refrigeration and APU solutions as high-value options that support uptime, driver comfort, and operating efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure commitments made to customers are delivered as promised.
Customer Experience and Coordination
- Deliver a customer-focused experience at the front counter and through phone, email, and messaging channels.
- Coordinate service calls and appointment scheduling to help minimize customer downtime.
- Open work orders and maintain accurate customer, unit, and service information in company systems.
- Assist technicians and the service team with parts procurement, repair estimates, approvals, invoices, warranty, and maintenance contract administration.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to review sales performance and adjust plans as needed.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain organized sales records, activity reports, and pipeline updates for management.
- Use CRM tools to track opportunities, follow-ups, and account plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Calgary branch and broader ColdFront team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of successful sales or business development experience, ideally in transportation, refrigeration, equipment, or related B2B solutions.
- Proven ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close new business.
- Knowledge of sales and operations processes, with the ability to work closely with service and parts teams.
- Experience with CRM systems for managing accounts, activities, and opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and adaptability in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.
- Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, presentation software, and email.
- Willingness to travel within Alberta and occasionally to BC and Saskatchewan.
