Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations. This role oversees electrical and mechanical manufacturing engineers supporting the production floor, service and QA with providing technical solutions, redlining drawings and procedures, and updating BOMs.
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor serves as the central point of coordination for communication and technical information flow between Engineering, Production, Service, and Quality Assurance departments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees AVL's Canadian manufacturing engineering team.
- Responsible for providing timely support to internal customers and ensuring production operations receive continuous engineering support to prevent interruptions or downtime.
- Manage and maintain production documentation starting 2 build including drawings modifications, BOM maintenance, creating and modifying work instructions.
- Responsible for managing ECO.
- Support improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, work instructions.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste and lower manufacturing costs
- Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality teams to improve material flow, inventory strategy, and supplier integration.
- Manage redline drawings including configurations.
- Review new designs and help engineering to come up with efficient designs.
Job Specific Qualifications:
- College Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or University graduate of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 1-3 years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience with Solidwork and/or AutoCAD software
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes; lean manufacturing; industrial engineering principles; production systems; supply chain integration and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing KPIs preferred.
- Self motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Experience with BOMs, routings, ERP systems, and engineering documentation control.
