About the Role
We are a growing appliance repair company serving the Niagara region. We are seeking a skilled, licensed Gas Technician specializing in appliance repair and installation. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and installing gas appliances and water heaters with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
Compensation
This is a commission-based contractor position — not hourly or salaried. You are paid per completed job, with a 50/50 split between you and the company on every job. The more you work, the more you earn. You set your own schedule, and we provide a steady flow of jobs across the Niagara region.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain gas appliances such as stoves, ovens, ranges, gas dryers, and water heaters.
- Diagnose issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Ensure all work complies with TSSA regulations, local codes, and safety standards.
- Perform inspections to identify potential hazards or malfunctions.
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain repairs and provide maintenance advice.
- Test appliances after installation or repair to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Requirements
- Valid TSSA Gas Technician license (G2 or G1) — required.
- Experience in appliance repair and/or installation.
- Your own tools and a reliable vehicle.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently.
Pay: $500.00-$1,500.00 per week
