Responsibilities
Planning, implementing and evaluating age appropriate program to enhance the children’s development in the different areas within the team.
Promoting and enhancing creativity within all areas of programming – creative, sensory, dramatic play, cognitive, music, science, fine/gross motors
Implementing of observations and assessments of children’s development within their written reports
Ensuring the safety and well being of the children within the center
Excellent working relationships with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds in our center
Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills and verbal/written communication skills to ensure positive communication with parents, co-workers and community members
Effective problem solving strategies with a conflict and resolution styles while providing supervision and guidance to the children
Experience in working with children with special needs
Assist with organizing and maintaining children’s files
Provide ongoing support to families, children, co workers and community
Qualifications
Working knowledge of Day Nurseries Act , Metro Operating Criteria and ELECT Document
Excellent knowledge of child development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills, self control, tact and sound judgement
Current First aid and CPR training
Valid Criminal Record Check – Vulnerable Sector
Updated immunization report
Ability to carry/lift children and carry/lift/move moderately heavy items
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$21.50 per hour
