Power Shotcrete provides geotechnical construction services such as soil nailing, shotcrete placement, anchor installation, pipe piles, seismic anchors, cut-off walls and emergency slope stabilization for both infrastructure, mining, commercial and residential construction projects.
We are seeking a Shoring Nozzleman to join our team in a dynamic geotechnical construction environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in Shoring Construction. Applicants must also have the ability to use small tools such as saws, hammers, drills, pneumatic rivet busters, etc.
Working as a member of the shoring crew, the Nozzleman is experienced in all aspects of shoring and shotcrete construction. They will be responsible for the safe and efficient application of shotcrete and adhering to engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
- Work with the Foreperson and the shoring crew to coordinate the application of shotcrete and understand shoring drawings and build to spec
- Provide high-quality shotcrete application expertise on various and sometimes challenging projects
- Ensure all areas to receive shotcrete are clean, sound, and free of loose material
- Ensure all reinforcement materials are installed to spec and any anchor head details are properly adhered to
- Maintain quality results of work including that shotcrete walls meet minimum +/- tolerances
- Perform inspections on all hoses and equipment prior to use to ensure safety and equipment is operating correctly
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
- Work as a high functioning team to ensure maximum productivity
- Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope.
Qualifications & Experience
- ACI Nozzleman certification is an asset or a combination of active Nozzleman experience and related training
- Experience operating a shotcrete pump
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of proper shotcrete equipment set-up
- Understand the impact weather can have on shotcrete operations to maintain quality results. Has previous experience working with difficult ground conditions
- Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in excavation/shoring projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
- First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
- Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
- Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
- Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
- Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must live in the Lower Mainland and have a valid driver's license/vehicle
- Must have extensive nozzleman experience. ACI certification is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
