The Sous Chef will oversee the production of food for our residential dining hall and special functions. Assists with supervision of culinary staff as assigned. Assist Executive Chef, with ordering and procurement of food and scheduling of employees. Working directly on line with other staff as and when needed and scheduled.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Assists and supports the Executive Chef, helps select and train kitchen staff.
- Food production and oversees the preparation and service of food for the residential dining hall
- ensures that front line supervisor and cooks need follow production sheets, ensures Staff is preparing, cooking and present different foods in the dining hall, and special events
- outstanding Customer service
- ensures that with all Staff follows health and safety standards in the kitchen
- ensures that all Aramark policies, training and guidelines are being followed
- Handles any problems that arise in the kitchen.
- Helps in ensuring customers are served efficiently and effectively.
- Procurement of supplies and proper product rotation in all coolers and freezer.
- needs to be familiar with Menu costing, Food cost, Prima, Waste management etc.
- Work on line as needed during shift.
