Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly organized Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of our three retail locations, including two stores in Lethbridge and one in Fort Macleod. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and is comfortable traveling between locations to provide operational support, coach team members, and ensure consistent store standards.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. They will play a key role in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, supporting staff development, and maintaining operational excellence across all locations.
A reliable personal vehicle is required, as regular travel between store locations is expected. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.30 per kilometre.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations across all three retail locations.
- Travel between stores as needed to provide leadership, operational support, and ensure consistent company standards.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and supervise team members to achieve sales goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing new employees.
- Manage payroll processing, cash handling, deposits, and basic bookkeeping accurately.
- Oversee merchandising, product displays, pricing, and promotional execution to maximize sales.
- Operate and troubleshoot POS systems while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous retail management or assistant management experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, sales management, and customer service.
- Experience with POS systems, inventory management, cash handling, payroll, and bookkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks across several locations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and staff development is considered an asset.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly between the two Lethbridge stores and the Fort Macleod location.
- Mileage reimbursement of $0.30 per kilometre for approved business travel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
