The role. We are seeking a full-time, permanent Stores Lead within our Business Services Department. As a Stores Lead, you would be responsible for ensuring the effective management of the Stores Technicians. In this position you will monitor the entirety of the Stores Department.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the overall operations and day-to-day functions of the Storeroom and Receiving Department, including supervising, training and motivating the Stores and Receiving team members.
- Acquire and document all purchases and must ensure that all goods are properly received, stored and issued.
- Assist purchasing with obtaining competitive price quotations and confirm purchase availability.
- Record and maintain inventory lists, review paperwork and reports, check product codes, process shipping orders, returns and provide customer service.
- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels; process purchasing orders as required; track orders and investigate problems.
- Record purchases, maintain database, perform physical count of inventory, and reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports.
- Ensure that there are sufficient expendable operating supplies on hand for each department by coordinating regular inventories with the storeroom team members and other departments.
- Ensure that all storage areas are secure, clean and properly organized.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent - copy of diploma or equivalent required.
- Parts and Materials Apprentice or a Parts Journeyperson certification or Supply Chain designation is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with required computer systems (Google Suite of Applications, SAP, CMMS etc.)
- Safety conscious individual who can demonstrate safe work practices with respect to people, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution, performance management and coaching skills.
- Experience operating Industrial lift trucks, fork-lifts and pallet lifters is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational and scheduling abilities.
