About FC Durham
FC Durham Academy is a high-performance youth soccer organization serving players ages U7–U18 across Durham Region. Our philosophy blends technical excellence, sportsmanship, and long-term athlete development.
From recreational foundations to OPDL-level competition and U.S. showcase exposure, FC Durham is committed to helping athletes reach their goals while enjoying the game in a structured and supportive environment.
Our programs operate out of many facilities in the Durham Region.
Position Summary
FC Durham is seeking passionate, organized, and development-focused Youth Soccer Coaches to lead teams in our Academy and Performance Programs.
Coaches will deliver high-quality training sessions aligned with FC Durham’s technical curriculum and support players’ growth on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development:

Plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions aligned with FC Durham’s technical curriculum.

Focus on individual player development, decision-making, and sportsmanship.
-
Provide structured feedback to players and parents.
Support strength, conditioning, and technical development initiatives in partnership with Orchard Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy.

Team Management:
-
Lead team practices and games in local leagues and tournaments.

Communicate schedules, expectations, and updates through Playmetrics.

Maintain attendance, evaluations, and player development reports.
Work collaboratively with Technical Director, Goalkeeper Coach, and performance staff.

Club Culture:

Uphold FC Durham values of respect, discipline, and community.

Follow Safe Sport policies, Rule of Two, and Ontario Soccer guidelines.
Support club events, trials, and community initiatives when required.

Minimum Qualifications
Coaching Certification:
-
Ontario Soccer Grassroots Coaching Certification OR
-
Minimum C License (National or Provincial)
Exception Consideration:
-
Former high-level players (professional, national team, NCAA/USports elite level) with extensive playing background may be considered and supported to complete required coaching courses within their first season.
Additional Requirements:

Valid Police Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Respect in Sport / Safe Sport certification.

Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience coaching competitive youth soccer.
-
Background in OPDL, Academy, or Showcase programs.

Experience using Playmetrics or similar systems.
-
First Aid / CPR Certification.
Ability to mentor parent-led coaches in grassroots programs.
