As a member of the Data Strategy Unit and reporting to the CTO, the Data Scientist has the opportunity to access some of the largest datasets in the world of online video platforms (such as YouTube, Instagram, etc). In this role, you will help generate performance driven insights to help determine BBTV’s strategic direction and empower content creators.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design data systems and tools aimed at enhancing product features and user experiences
Identify, evaluate, and automate data sources for improved accuracy and efficiency, ensuring high-quality data for analysis
Organize and pre-process structured and unstructured data
Mine data for actionable insights, identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities from internal and external sources
Build predictive models using machine-learning models and tools
Integrate models to solve complex business questions
Coordinate with different cross functional teams to implement models
Establish processes to monitor and optimize model performances and outcomes
Design and help build business and insights focused data structures for performance and benchmarking reports.
Work with business stakeholders to translate their requirements into repeatable and automated reporting.
Present information using data visualization techniques
Propose data-driven solutions for business challenges
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
Proficiency in data mining, data cleaning, and machine learning
Understanding of machine learning and operations research
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Airflow, Mage.ai, Prefect)
Strong skills in SQL and Python; knowledge of Snowflake or Power BI is a plus.
Analytical mindset, robust math / statistical skills, and business acumen
Effective problem-solving abilities and action-oriented approach
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience with deploying models on AWS
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; a graduate degree in Data Science or a quantitative field is preferred
