The manager is the most important role at Human Kanvas, because of the impact this person has on every client, every artist, and every single day inside the studio. We are looking for someone exceptional. The Role You are the first person every client sees and the last person they interact with before they leave. You oversee front of house operations fully. This is a fast paced, high energy, people-first role. It requires someone who thrives under pressure, communicates with confidence, and learns faster than the average person. You'll: Open the studio 30 minutes before doors open. Review all walk-ins, consultations, and scheduled appointments. Confirm artist schedules and ensure the studio is fully prepared before the first client arrives. Close the studio at the end of the day, ensuring everything is secured after the last artist has finished. Welcome every client with genuine warmth and professionalism. Manage walk-in inquiries and triage clients appropriately. Handle consultations alongside artists.. Ensure every client completes and signs a consent form before their appointment. Answer phone calls and emails, respond to client inquiries. Manage scheduling conflicts and appointment changes. Handle cancellations according to studio protocols. Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed. Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the day. Build genuine relationships with clients and identify opportunities to enhance their experience, including recommending additional services and matching clients with the right artist for their vision. Oversee studio social media, creating content with the team and posting photo and video content consistently. Keep artists on schedule and communicate changes before they become issues. Resolve client-facing concerns professionally, so artists can remain focused on their work. Work closely with ownership on daily operations. Proactively identify operational issues, communicate them promptly, and bring thoughtful solutions whenever possible. Who We Are Looking For: We are not looking for the most experienced candidate. We are looking for the right person! A confident, clear speaker that makes people feel comfortable the moment they interact with you. You are not shy. You can hold a conversation with a nervous first-time client and a frustrated regular in the same five minutes and handle both perfectly. A fast learner able to apply systems and procedures quickly once taught. You do not make the same mistake twice. You ask questions when you don't know something and you find the answer before you need it again. Someone people genuinely like. Clients come back because of the work and because of how the experience made them feel. You are a significant part of that feeling. You should be the kind of person clients remember and ask for by name. Calm under pressure. The kind of person that can have a walk-in at the desk, a call on hold, a scheduling conflict to resolve, and an artist asking a question all at the same time, and can handle all of it without losing composure or dropping the standard. Coachable. You will not know how to do everything when you start. That is expected. What is not accepted is slow adoption of systems or resistance to feedback. Coachability is non-negotiable. Requirements Experience in a fast paced customer facing role, with hospitality, retail management, or service industry preferred. Tattoo industry experience is a plus, it is not a requirement. The right person with no tattoo experience will outperform the wrong person with ten years of it. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing composure. Comfortable with basic scheduling and booking software.
