Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while adhering to all legal and safety regulations
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers regarding medication selection, dosing, and potential interactions
- Educate patients on medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions to ensure proper adherence
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as needed in collaboration with medical staff
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, storage, and expiration checks of pharmaceuticals
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards
- Support patient care initiatives by participating in multidisciplinary rounds and contributing to treatment planning
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacology, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols
Experience
- Prior experience working in a hospital setting is preferred, particularly in acute care or pediatrics units
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on medication management and safety
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to hospital pharmacy practice
- Experience with medication administration processes within clinical environments is advantageous
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and communicate complex information clearly
- Certification as a licensed Pharmacist is required; ongoing professional development is encouraged to stay updated on industry best practices
Pay: $65.00-$75.00 per hour
