Position Summary: The Manager, EarlyON is responsible for the overall leadership, administration,
planning, implementation, and evaluation of EarlyON Child and Family Centre programs and services.
Reporting to the Director, Family Services or designated senior leader, the Manager ensures that services
are delivered in accordance with organizational goals, funding requirements, legislative standards, and best
practices in early childhood development and family support.
The Manager provides leadership and supervision to staff and volunteers, oversees program operations and
budget management, fosters collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders, and ensures the
delivery of high-quality, inclusive, culturally responsive, and family-centered services. The role is
responsible for ensuring service targets and outcomes are achieved, promoting continuous quality
improvement, and supporting a positive and engaged team culture. The Manager serves as a key
representative of the organization within the community and contributes to strategic planning, risk
management, and program development initiatives that support children and families across the service
area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of the department, ensure ongoing
improvements to service delivery processes as per the deliverables outlined in funding contribution
agreements/contract
- Ensure policies, procedures, and standards affecting staff are consistent with legislated
policies, procedures and standards, and that the provisions are consistently applied
- Develop individual plans, protocols, and schedules
- Collaborate with advocates, internal and external stakeholders, professionals and personnel to meet
service quality consistently
- Manage staff recruitment, training, orientation and development
- Prepare and recommend to the Executive Director an annual program budget
- Ensure program is operated in a safe environment and complemented with legislation
- Ensure program evaluation including staff evaluations that are responsive to community needs and
service gaps and best practices
- Be aware of the role in risk mitigation and be accountable to follow procedures, attend meetings,
and, when appropriate, provide information and recommended training to staff
- Other Duties as may be assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum university degree in Early Childhood Studies or equivalent
- 7 years of progressive work experience in an EarlyON center leadership capacity
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of ECE
- Five years’ experience in management, in the non-profit sector preferred
- Ability to provide adequate leadership/supervision to a variety of professional staff and volunteers
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and partners collaboratively, with cross-cultural skills
- Knowledge and experience working with family and children within childcare and or family resource setting
- Experience with behaviour management or behaviour intervention is a must
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and people who face multiple barriers
- Experience working with Children and families
- Working knowledge of the Growing Together in Peel (GTIP, formerly CAPC) preferred
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Family and Services Act, and Duty to Report
- Knowledge of the immigrant/refugee settlement and integration process
- Ability to demonstrate concern for satisfying external and internal clients
- Working knowledge of managing risks in a community service environment
- Project management experience
- First Aid Certification and Criminal Record Check are required
- Budget management experience
- Statistical analysis and reporting experience
