Sibwest Building Restoration is looking for experienced and reliable Restoration Technicians to join our team and work on a construction project in Hamilton, Ontario.
The primary focus of this position is concrete restoration, expansion joint restoration, and concrete chipping. The successful candidate will work as part of a restoration crew and perform a variety of concrete repair and surface preparation tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform concrete restoration and repair of damaged concrete structures.
- Perform expansion joint restoration and repairs.
- Perform concrete chipping, including removal of damaged, deteriorated, or unsound concrete.
- Prepare concrete surfaces for restoration and repair.
- Perform grinding, patching, forming, and other concrete repair activities as required.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, chipping hammers, grinders, and other construction equipment.
- Follow project specifications, drawings, and instructions from the Foreman or Site Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company and site-specific health and safety requirements.
- Work effectively as part of a restoration crew.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in concrete restoration, concrete repair, or a related construction trade.
- Previous experience with concrete chipping and expansion joint restoration is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Working at Heights and WHMIS certificates are required.
- Valid G Driver’s Licence and reliable personal vehicle are required if you live outside Hamilton area.
- Previous experience working on commercial, high-rise, or large-scale construction projects is an asset.
