Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Canadian Tax Accountant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tax compliance, preparing tax returns, and providing strategic financial advice related to Canadian taxation. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of financial services. The Tax Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory standards, supporting our organization’s growth and compliance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Canadian tax returns, including corporate, personal, and GST/HST filings.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
- Perform account reconciliation and auditing procedures to verify the integrity of financial records.
- Manage accounts payable, payroll, and budgeting processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant tools.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Provide advice on tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes for clients or the organization.
- Collaborate with auditors during audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation affecting Canadian taxation to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support investment analysis and financial reporting activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Canadian Tax Accountant or similar role within financial services.
- Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other accounting tools.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Experience with auditing, account reconciliation, accounts payable, payroll, and budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of investment strategies and related tax implications is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CPA designation or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $44,171.70-$101,655.99 per year
