Since 1980, Pioneer Youth Services operates residential treatment homes for children and youth with behavioural, social, emotional, and psychological disorders
Requirements: G-Class Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract; Pass and Provide a Broad sector Police Check upon hire; Minimum two vaccinations for COVID.
First Aid certification and Non -Violent Crisis Intervention training would be an asset..

Responsibilities and Duties
· Working "on the floor" in a group home setting.
· Participating in resident assessments
· Preparing internal reports, form in a timely manner
· Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting
· Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities
· Providing educational support services as necessary
· Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
· Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modelling
· Liaise with family and social worker of resident
· participate and assist in planning of the summer program
· Lead, monitor and assist in children's therapeutic groups and meetings
· Completing logs and incident reports as required
· Administer medications
· Need to be available for some weekends, evenings & stat days (not overnights)
Qualifications and Skills
· The successful candidate will have completed in a College/University program in child and youth worker or a related field
· Strong behaviour management skills
· At least 1 year children/youth experience in a residential treatment (group home) setting for children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges and/or dual diagnosed youths
· The candidate must be able to utilize excellent decision making skills and be able to effectively solve problems
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
· Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with both staff and residents
