From our naturally raised and no-added hormones or steroids beef, to our specialty grocery selection and bistro, we lead with ethical, sustainable, and transparent farm practices that have made us one of Vancouver’s most trusted food producers.
We are currently looking to fill a Line Cook & Kitchen Prep position. Our Kitchen/Bistro specializes in farm to plate ingredients including our own locally raised and sourced meats.
The successful candidate must be available Wednesday through Saturday with flexible availability to cover shifts.
The Line Cook & Kitchen Prep's Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items including burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, sauces, and other bistro menu items
- Assist with daily food prep and line cooking for the Bistro and Home Meal Replacement (HMR) program
- Portion, package, label, and store food products properly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, coolers, and work areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures at all times
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as needed
- Work closely with the kitchen and deli team to complete daily tasks and maintain product availability
- Support other kitchen and front-of-house duties as required
- Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with hot equipment, sharp tools, and varying temperatures
- Handle raw and cooked food products safely and follow all food safety procedures
- Stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout scheduled shifts
- Wear clean black or grey pants and non-slip footwear suitable for kitchen work
- Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Hair must be tied back while working
- Large jewelry, strong scents, and non-approved branded clothing are not permitted in the kitchen
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic cooking knowledge and food preparation skills
- Basic knife handling and plating/presentation skills
- Ability to accurately follow recipes and preparation instructions
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Line cooking experience is required
- Food Safe Level 1 or equivalent food safety certification is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week
