Chipping Away has been selling woodcarving and wood burning tools and supplies to woodcarvers (both beginners and professionals) since 1992. We ship worldwide through our full service e-commerce website and retail storefront.
If you are someone who isn't ready to fully retire and skilled in the trades this might be just the right fit!
The work week will consist of 20 hours, no Sunday's. Your schedule will fall within our hours of operations which are 9-5 Monday - Friday and 9-1 on Saturdays. We are flexible. Occasional Saturdays.
Duties include but not limited to:
-assembly of equipment and beginner wood carving kits
-safe operation of shop equipment, i.e. band saw, jointer, planer and hand tools
-tack skills, leather cutting of machine belts and hand strops
-receiving goods and inventory management
-some computer skills using our website and intuit POS software
Assets/skills
-knowledge of wood working and or woodcarving.
-attention to detail
-customer service, product handling and customer support
-knowledge of tool sharpening is a MAJOR asset**
- 2-4 years experience with tools a minimum
- High level of English communication skill is required in both verbal and written.
- Organization is key to success in this role
- Adaptability to changing responsibilities and procedures.
-Problem solving skills.
-Capable of lifting 40 lbs.
-Friendly and personable
Education: Diploma Grade 12 English
