DMT Geosciences Ltd. is hiring Geophysical Assistants / Labourers for casual, project-based field work. This role is performed outdoors in all conditions and is physically demanding. Crew members must be fit for duty and capable of carrying cables and equipment through snow, dense brush, and rough terrain during 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with geophysical survey field operations (layout, pickup, and handling of cables/equipment)
- Carry, deploy, and retrieve equipment (cables, batteries, nodes/geophones, etc.) through snow/brush and uneven ground
- Load/unload trucks and support equipment staging and daily setup/teardown
- Perform work safely, follow site rules and DMT safety procedures, and participate in hazard assessments / tailgate meetings
- Maintain housekeeping, assist with basic equipment checks, and support the field crew as directed
Requirements (Must Have)
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding labour for extended periods outdoors
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts in variable weather (cold, snow, wind, rain, heat)
- Able to safely lift/carry up to 50–70 lbs repeatedly
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to follow instructions and work well in a team
- Willing and able to travel and work at changing project locations on short notice
- Valid driver’s license
