Irving Tissue is seeking an Industrial Electrician for an existing vacancy. The Industrial Electrician will be based out of Toronto, Ontario (1551 Weston Road, M6M 4Y4). This is a permanent, full-time position.
Starting Hourly Wage: $54.619

Job Requirements
- Certificate of Qualification - Industrial (or Construction) Electrician, Red Seal
- Preference given to candidates with Instrumentation License or demonstrated experience with instrumentation and controls
- Previous manufacturing experience is required
- Previous completion of an electrical apprenticeship is required
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) an asset
- Experience with DCS systems, control valves, calibration of instrumentation, PLC systems, AC drives, DC drives, servo drives, motion control, HMI interface (Allen-Bradley Controllogix Systems preferred, AC /DC Motors and HV/MV switchgears Operation, Power system and Transformer maintenance.
- Strong computer skills for both automation controls and daily applications is required
- Highly developed communications skills (verbal and written)
- High degree of attention to detail, precision and follow through
- Able to work in fast paced production environment with multiple priorities
- Team oriented
The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
- Perform planned, preventive, and break-in maintenance, including installation, testing, and repair of electrical, electronic, and industrial equipment.
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem‑solving to ensure equipment reliability and process health.
- Use the CMMS (JD Edwards) to document all maintenance activities, update work orders, and maintain accurate shift log entries.
- Execute scheduled work (PMs, inspections, rounds) and act as a first responder for urgent “On the Run” tasks.
- Collaborate with planners, coordinators, and operations teams to ensure proper work prioritization, planning, and resource alignment.
- Follow all site safety practices and ensure others in the work area do the same.
- Complete shift assessments, review backlog items, and perform additional departmental tasks as required.
