Lead Teacher (ECE – Level 2/3)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher for Preschool and Toddler Rooms ECE – Level 2/3 to join our early learning and child care program. Position Summary
The Early Childhood Educator Level 3 will:
- Perform duties following the philosophy, mission statement, and core values of the program.
- Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to provincial regulations, Alberta Health Services requirements, and the program’s policies and procedures.
- Provide high-quality early learning and child care in a group setting that responds to diverse needs and promotes the optimum physical, social, emotional, intellectual, cultural, and creative development of children in our care.
- Work collaboratively as part of an early learning and child care team to develop and implement programs that meet the developmental needs of children based on age group and stages of development.
- Apply sound child care knowledge and practices to ensure the needs of all children are met and that the child care team functions effectively.
- Supervise all aspects of the early learning and child care program as assigned by the Director.
- Share professional experiences, coach and guide others with a positive attitude, provide resources, role model best practices, and foster respect for the profession.
- Develop collaborative partnerships with families that honour their role as the child’s primary caregiver, respect parenting practices, and provide meaningful opportunities for family involvement in children’s learning and care experiences.
- Build trusting relationships with each child while promoting self-respect, security, self-awareness, and a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate with colleagues and outside agencies to support children with exceptional needs and help implement appropriate plans for each child.
- Assume responsibilities of the program supervisor during the absence of the Director or Coordinator when designated.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Level 2/3 Early Childhood Educator through the Alberta Child Care Staff Certification Office
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Lead teacher after ECE Level 3 completion
- Current Child Care First Aid Certification acceptable as per Alberta OHA guideline for facility based childcare setup
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (Must be dated within 6 months prior to employment commencement.)
- Food handlers certificate (must obtain within one month of employment)

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Calgary, AB T2A 2R1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
