Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and efficient Cook to join our quick-service restaurant team. You will prepare high-quality Chinese-inspired dishes (stir-fry, wok cooking, frying) while ensuring all food items are prepared to company specs. This role requires speed, teamwork, and strict adherence to food safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Wok Production: Expertly prepare wok-cooked items (fried rice, noodles, entrees) according to standardized franchise recipes and portion guides.
- Prep Work: Efficiently chop, cut, slice, and season ingredients (vegetables, meats) before and during shifts.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation, complying with all health and safety regulations, including FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation.
- Quality Control: Ensure every plate is hot, fresh, and meets brand presentation standards before serving.
- Speed & Efficiency: Work under pressure to meet high volume demand during lunch and dinner rushes.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate wok ranges, deep fryers, rice cookers, and steamers.
- Teamwork: Assist fellow team members to ensure smooth, efficient service.
Requirements & Skills
- Previous experience as a cook in a high-volume QSR or Chinese restaurant preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wok cooking and Chinese cuisine techniques.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
