Hiring a Scale House Attendant at the St-Nicephore Landfill. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers delivering waste materials, ensuring safety compliance, accurate transactions, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced field operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers and site traffic
- Accurately calculate payments for waste loads
- Inspect incoming loads to ensure compliance and safety standards
- Enforce PPE requirements and safety regulations
- Provide front-line customer service and answer inquiries
- Perform data entry, filing, and administrative tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scale house
- Report issues or concerns to supervisors promptly
- Attend required training and meetings
- Work overtime as needed
Requirements
- Must be fluent in French and English
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0–4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills/administrative skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor/industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally
- Must comply with PPE and safety regulations
Work Environment
- Scale house setting at landfill facility
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dirt, and odors
- Occasional exposure to occupational hazards (cuts, chemicals, etc.)
- Must be comfortable working in a regulated field operations environment
