About DSC
DSC is a Canadian data and AI consulting firm helping organizations modernize their data infrastructure, improve reporting, and unlock actionable insights. We work across industries to design, build, and optimize data platforms, analytics systems, and data-driven applications that support better decision-making and lay the groundwork for AI and machine learning. Our clients range from emerging businesses to established enterprises across North America.
We focus on boutique attention and enterprise-grade impact, ensuring our clients can trust their data to drive their decisions. We pride ourselves on transparent communication and building scalable platforms using modern data stacks and industry-leading solutions.
The Role
As DSC continues to grow, we are hiring our first Sales Development Representative to help drive new business and expand our client base. This is a foundational role on a sales team that is actively expanding. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating pipeline, engaging senior decision-makers at target accounts, and helping bring new clients into the business.
DSC sells data expertise and the outcomes that come with it. You will be engaging CTOs and data engineering leaders at organizations where DSC can deliver meaningful value, many of whom have not yet identified the problem we help solve. The prospects you will be calling are often not actively looking for a solution yet. Your role is to ask the right questions, understand their environment, and get them curious enough to want a deeper conversation with our team.
You will be set up to succeed from day one. You will receive targeted account lists, guidance on outreach approach, and hands-on coaching from the Sales Manager throughout your onboarding and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily outbound calls with a focus on researched, personalized outreach to senior contacts at target accounts, including CTOs and data engineering leadership
- Build and nurture relationships with prospects over time, staying engaged through longer sales cycles and maintaining a consistent presence even before a need is identified.
- Book qualified meetings for the Sales Manager and maintain a healthy, well-documented pipeline.
- Research target accounts prior to outreach to ensure calls are relevant, informed, and personalized.
- Coordinate and file 1 to 2 RFP and RFQ submissions per week using an established process and template.
- Attend local networking events where relevant based on your location.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who approaches sales with curiosity and intention. Strong sales fundamentals are what matter most in this hire. Someone who prepares thoroughly, listens closely, and takes ownership of their results will thrive in this role.
Required
- 1 to 2 years of experience in sales, with a track record of building relationships and engaging decision-makers.
- Confidence engaging senior buyers over the phone, including the ability to navigate conversations that go beyond a prepared script.
- Genuine curiosity about the accounts you are calling and the discipline to conduct meaningful research prior to each outreach.
- A coachable, high-ownership approach to the role. You apply feedback, take accountability for your results, and take initiative in managing your own work.
- Comfort with a consultative sales motion where the goal is helping a prospect recognize a problem before proposing a solution. You understand this is different from selling a product and you are open to that kind of conversation.
- Comfort with a lower-volume, higher-quality outreach model where the quality of each conversation matters more than call volume.
Preferred
- Experience in B2B services, consulting, or technology sales.
- Familiarity with data, analytics, or technical concepts.
- Experience selling in longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Experience selling higher-value solutions.
What We Offer
- Base salary of $55,000 to $60,000 depending on experience, with on-target earnings of $85,000 to $95,000. Commission is uncapped and earned from day one. Variable pay is tied directly to meetings booked, SQLs accepted, and deals originated.
- Comprehensive group benefits coverage, including extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Health Spending Account (HSA) to support additional health and wellness needs.
- 100% remote work environment
- A flexible vacation policy with no set annual cap. We trust our team to take the time they need to recharge.
- As DSC grows, there is a real opportunity to move into a more senior sales capacity as the team and client base expand.
DSC is committed to providing accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. If you require accommodation at any stage, please contact us at [email protected]
