Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook / Chef to join our culinary team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals that exceed our guests' expectations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in executing daily production, contributing ideas for menu items, and maintaining food safety standards while fostering a positive, efficient, and collaborative working environment. Additionally, because we are a full-service catering operation, this role may occasionally require hitting the road to assist with deliveries and event setups.

Responsibilities
- Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Daily Production: Support daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets strict quality standards.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory of your station's food supplies, ensuring proper storage and rotation (FIFO) to minimize waste.
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, strictly adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Occasional Driving & Setup: Step out of the kitchen when needed to safely drive and transport catering orders, equipment, and supplies, assisting with loading, unloading, and setting up buffet stations at venues.
- Team Support: Guide and support team members on shared tasks, promoting safe food handling procedures and kitchen safety practices.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor food presentation and portion control to ensure consistency across all dishes served.
Experience & Driving Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook, Chef, or in a similar execution-focused role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and meal preparation processes.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations related to safe food handling.
- Driving Requirements: A valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract (strong, safe driving record required).
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 20 years of age.
- Ability to lift heavy items (catering hot boxes, equipment, trays) and perform physical tasks associated with kitchen production, loading, and event setup.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a sharp attention to detail.
- Fluent English is preferred
