Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral artistry, excellent customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role involves designing beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions, maintaining the floral displays, and providing exceptional service to our customers. A background in horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance is a plus, along with strong organizational and communication skills. Multilingual abilities are also valued to better serve our diverse clientele.
Duties
- Create custom floral arrangements for events, retail displays, and special orders using fresh flowers and foliage
- Assist customers in selecting flowers and designing arrangements that meet their needs and preferences
- Maintain the freshness and appearance of all floral displays by proper handling and timely replacement
- Manage inventory of flowers, supplies, and merchandising materials to ensure availability and presentation standards
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments accurately
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging flowers attractively within the store or display areas
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering floral care advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Assist with landscape maintenance or gardening tasks as needed to enhance the overall aesthetic of the store or outdoor displays
- Stay informed about current floral trends, seasonal products, and e-commerce opportunities to boost sales
Skills
- Strong floral design skills with an eye for aesthetics and detail
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales operations
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of horticulture, gardening, landscape maintenance, and floral merchandising techniques
- Experience with customer service and sales strategies to enhance client relationships
- Organizational skills to manage inventory, arrange displays, and coordinate multiple projects efficiently
- Ability to operate within a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms related to floral sales is advantageous
