Master Plumber (Licensed 306A / Master Plumber Preferred)

About the Role
Element Building Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Licensed Plumber (306A) or Master Plumber to join our growing mechanical division. This senior-level position focuses on servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and retrofitting plumbing and mechanical systems in occupied high-rise residential and commercial buildings throughout the GTA.
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on professional who can work independently, provide exceptional service, and mentor junior team members when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain plumbing systems in high-rise residential and commercial buildings
- Perform repairs and modifications to domestic water, sanitary, storm, and hydronic piping systems
- Complete valve replacements, riser isolation work, and plumbing shutdown coordination
- Diagnose and repair leaks, clogged drains, stack blockages, and piping failures
- Perform drain cleaning, snaking, camera inspections, and drainage system troubleshooting
- Service pumps, boilers, expansion tanks, fan coils, heat pumps, and mechanical room piping
- Perform soldering, brazing, threading, grooving, and installation of copper, steel, PEX, and cast iron piping
- Install and replace plumbing fixtures, shut-off valves, pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), balancing valves, and related components
- Respond to emergency plumbing service calls, including after-hours work when required
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, riser diagrams, specifications, and site layouts
- Coordinate professionally with property managers, superintendents, tenants, and project teams
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Plumbing Code and applicable health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate service reports, material tracking, and project documentation
- Mentor apprentices and support retrofit, capital replacement, and shutdown projects
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario 306A Plumbing License
- 9+ years of plumbing experience in high-rise residential and/or commercial buildings
- Strong experience with:
- Domestic water systems
- Drainage and sanitary systems
- Hydronic piping systems
- Valve replacements and riser work
- Mechanical room piping
- Pumps, boilers, and plumbing equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with soldering, brazing, threading, grooving, and piping installations
- Ability to independently manage service calls and field issues
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Thorough understanding of Ontario construction and safety regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Plumber License
- Ontario Backflow Prevention Tester Certification
- Experience working in occupied high-rise condominium buildings
- Experience with boiler systems, pumps, hydronic balancing, and shutdown coordination
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and specifications
- Experience leading apprentices or small crews
