Position Summary
The Wire Manufacturer operates extrusion and insulation/wrapping equipment to manufacture magnet wire according to customer specifications, production requirements, and detailed work instructions. This role involves setting up and running specialized wire manufacturing equipment, performing in-process quality checks, and completing required testing to ensure product meets EMCC’s quality standards.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 12-hour shifts on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation. The successful candidate must be comfortable working long shifts and a rotating schedule.
The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn and grow within the manufacturing environment of a growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate magnet wire manufacturing equipment including: Extrusion lines, Insulation/wrapping lines, Testing and inspection equipment
- Set up and change over machines for different wire sizes, insulation types, and materials.
- Load raw materials and verify proper machine setup before production.
- Manufacture magnet wire according to customer specifications and documented work instructions.
- Monitor production variables such as temperature, line speed, tension, and insulation thickness.
- Perform in-process and final quality checks.
- Complete required NEMA-standard testing and record results accurately.
- Identify, separate, and report non-conforming product.
- Maintain consistent production pace without compromising quality standards or safety.
- Operate all machinery and processes safely in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications & Skills
- No prior magnet wire manufacturing experience required; training provided.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Ability to perform basic in-process inspections and understand quality requirements.
- Comfortable completing production and quality documentation.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.
- Proficiency in English is helpful.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and detailed inspection work.
- Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment, insulation materials, and production machinery.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
