Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanitation Manager to oversee our Ready-to-Eat manufacturing facility in St. Mary’s, Ontario. The ideal candidate will lead the practice of maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across all areas, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a background in commercial cleaning. The Sanitation Manager will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and efficient environment for staff and visitors alike.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to sanitation staff and supervisors
- Oversee sanitation activities for production and warehouse operations
- Manage and verify CIP and COP systems, chemical use, and sanitation procedures
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, GMPs, OHSA, internal policies, and audit requirements
- Verify sanitation effectiveness through ATP testing, environmental swabs, and pre-operational inspections
- Maintain and improve SSOPs, sanitation schedules, records, corrective actions and audit documentation
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, Food Safety, Pest Control, and Health & Safety teams
- Manage sanitation chemicals, supplies, equipment, PPE, and supplier relationships
- Track sanitation KPIs and lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support health and safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment
- Manage third-party service contracts as required
- Take ownership of sanitation audit outcomes, action plans, and ongoing compliance
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a production facility, preferably in the food industry
- Experience leading sanitation operations in a high-volume, 24/7 food production environment
- Strong knowledge of CIP, COP, chemical handling, sanitation equipment, and best practices
- Solid understanding of food safety programs, HACCP, SQF, GMPs, OHSA, and regulatory standards
- Proven leadership experience with training, coaching, and developing teams
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- A hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
