Heavy-Duty Field Mechanic – Journeyman or Apprentice
Location: Edmonton & Acheson, Alberta

Raywalt Construction is a well-established sewer and water contractor based in Edmonton. We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced Heavy-Duty Field Mechanic (Journeyman or Apprentice) to join our team.
Position Overview:
This is a full-time position that transitions seasonally:
- Summer: Field-based work within the Edmonton area
- Winter: Shop-based repairs and servicing at our facility in Acheson Industrial Park
A service truck will be provided for fieldwork. Applicants must supply their own tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and shop
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Work independently and efficiently in both shop and field environments
- Complete job-related documentation accurately and timely
Our Fleet Includes:
- Caterpillar, John Deere, and Komatsu
- Excavators, dozers, loaders, track loaders, and packers
Qualifications:
- Journeyman or Apprentice Heavy-Duty Off-Road Technician (required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (required)
- Proven experience as a field mechanic on heavy equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Safety-conscious and able to work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Day shift: Monday to Friday
- 10–12-hour shifts
- Overtime and weekends as needed
