About the Role
Reporting to the Packaging Supervisor, the Production/Packaging Worker performs duties related to packaging of Quidi Vidi Brewery world-class products in preparation for transportation and sale to customers.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare / set up cartons / boxes for filling
- Place empty bottles on conveyer to be washed
- Inspect washed bottles for defects or inclusions
- Remove bottles and cans from end of production line
- Check bottles, cans and packaging to ensure no defects or signs of damage
- Place finished product into trays, cases / cartons / boxes
- Close, seal and label cases / cartons / boxes
- Load packaged product onto pallets
- Palletize, wrap, secure and tag goods when required / directed in preparation for transportation / storage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all packaging-related areas.
- Operation of pallet jacks to move / store product when required.
- Assist in monitoring packaging supplies to ensure sufficient inventory available.
- Work independently and as part of the team, cooperating and coordinating with other employees to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures / SOPs to ensure highest level product quality and consistency.
- Complete all work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to safety procedures, processes and protocols.
- Ongoing identification of opportunities for improvement in processes, procedures, workflow and efficiencies.
- Other duties as required.

Required Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience in beverage packaging considered an asset
- Willing to work overtime as required for production completion
Work Environment, Conditions and Required Physical Capabilities
- Ability to perform physically demanding, repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
- Job requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination
- Walking and standing for extended periods including bending, twisting, crouching and kneeling at times
- Regular lifting of up to 25 kg. Occasional team lifting of 25+ kg.
- Cold, wet / damp, hot environment at times
- Ambient industrial noise
- Brewing-related odours
- Able to work in a flexible environment where daily tasks may change based on brewing and processing schedule changes / requirements
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Gloves, hearing and eye protection, as well as High Visibility Safety Apparel / HVSA (i.e. vest) -(provided)
- Steel-toe footwear (allowance available)
Schedule:
- Shifts ranging from early morning to late evening Monday to Friday.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
