POSITION: Major Gifts Officer
Starting Date: This is a new position with a start date of August 2026.
Salary Range: $85,000–$105,000
Commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Description: Albert College is an independent day and boarding school for students in PK to Grade 12 in Belleville, Ontario. The Major Gifts Officer will advance the vision and strategic plan of Albert College through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift donors and through building strong, long-term philanthropic relationships with members of the Albert College community.
The Major Gifts Officer will:
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with a diverse range of local and international Albert College community members including donors, parents, alumni, students, faculty and staff.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors through the full fundraising cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and ongoing relationship management.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies, applying a strong understanding of philanthropic best practices and donor engagement principles.
- Maintain accurate donor and prospect records and utilize fundraising databases to generate reports, track activity and support data-informed fundraising decisions. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT is an asset.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Represent the school with the highest level of professionalism, serving as a trusted ambassador and spokesperson who consistently reflects the core values and mission of the school, positively influencing and inspiring others around them.
