About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. Role Overview:
The Warehouse Parts Coordinator is responsible for ensuring planned maintenance activities are fully supported by accurate, timely, and reliable material availability.
This role drives material readiness, inventory accuracy, and work order staging, acting as a critical link between Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain to minimize equipment downtime, reduce schedule delays, and improve maintenance execution efficiency. The position is primarily focused on execution and readiness coordination, supported by analytical responsibilities related to SAP, MRP, and inventory optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Readiness & Work Order Support
- Ensure all materials for planned work orders are available, picked, kitted, and staged in advance of scheduled execution dates.
- Validate SAP reservations and confirm material readiness aligns with maintenance schedules and priorities.
- Identify material shortages and initiate actions including stock replenishment, warehouse transfers, or approved substitutions.
- Monitor and expedite critical and direct-charge materials to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate material risks, delays, or constraints proactively to Maintenance Planners and Supervisors.
- Support achievement of high schedule compliance and maintenance readiness performance.
SAP & Inventory Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate and timely material reservations, inventory transactions, and part status updates within SAP.
- Review and validate open reservations to ensure accuracy, relevance, and timely closure.
- Monitor and improve reservation aging and data quality.
- Support optimization of inventory levels, min/max settings, and reorder points.
- Recommend improvements to material master data, including descriptions, sourcing, and critical spare identification.
- Ensure alignment between cycle counts and system inventory to maintain high accuracy.
Planning Support & Material Readiness Reporting
- Develop and maintain a Materials Availability Report aligned with the maintenance planning horizon.
- Provide clear visibility of material readiness, shortages, and risk forecasts for upcoming scheduled work.
- Analyze MRP outputs and open purchase orders to identify future constraints and long-lead risks.
- Present material readiness status in Pre-Commit and Commitment meetings, highlighting issues and mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with Planning and Maintenance teams to ensure priorities and sequencing are supported by material availability.
Warehouse Coordination & Material Flow
- Coordinate efficient movement of materials between warehouse, staging areas, and underground storage locations.
- Ensure staging areas are organized, labeled, and aligned with execution requirements.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of parts kits prior to release to operations.
- Manage return of unused materials, including inspection, restocking, and SAP reversal transactions.
- Promote safe and efficient material handling practices in accordance with company standards.
Continuous Improvement & Reliability Support
- Identify and reduce material-related delays impacting maintenance execution.
- Support development and standardization of kitting and staging processes for recurring work.
- Analyze trends related to stock-outs, MRP performance, and material availability gaps.
- Collaborate with Reliability, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to address chronic part availability issues.
- Contribute to improvements in reporting accuracy, forecasting, and planning effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- High-school graduation with related post-secondary training
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience,
- Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations required
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate required
- Knowledge of mining equipment and parts required
- Advanced user in SAP S4/Hana ERP materials management
- Must be able to operate forklifts or other equipment as required.
- Highly organized and high attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
- Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
- Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Good leadership skills are required.
Working Conditions:
- The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on an 7/7 rotation schedule with flights provided from Sudbury Toronto and Rouyn-Noranda.
- Pay or shift range: $80,600 CAD to $128,750 CAD
