Coordinator of Community Development and Partnerships
The Murphy Centre is a community based alternative learning environment providing academic, career and lifestyle education services. It is presently seeking a Coordinator of Community Development and Partnerships for its Community Employment Collaboration (CEC) Project.
The CEC is a community-based initiative hosted by the Murphy Centre that has become the foundational infrastructure for the professionalization and coordination of career development practice across Newfoundland and Labrador. Over eighteen (18) years, the CEC has built a connected network of Career Development Practitioners (CDPs), community agencies, and government partners by creating tangible, day‑to‑day value for practitioners and the job seekers they support.
The goal of the CEC is to support the career and employment sector with a particular focus on projects that are funded by the Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development. This is achieved through targeted communications and information sharing, continuous professional development for CDPs, and collaborative partnership development for knowledge sharing.
As the Coordinator of Community Development and Partnerships, you will demonstrate a passion for career and community development, and the empowerment of all partners and contributors. You will play a pivotal role in community engagement with career practitioners, fostering partnerships, and advocating for meaningful and effective services for job seekers. Working in conjunction with the project’s Management Committee, your work will directly contribute to the betterment of career and employment services in our community.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Cultivating strong relationships with community partners
· Liaising with Career Development Practitioners and government departments
· Bridging gaps among community, post-secondary, and government sectors
· Facilitating cross-sectoral initiatives that promote best practices in career development
· Maintaining the website of employment supports and services
· Facilitating information sharing across community partners and government
· Cultivating collaborative leadership, encouraging teamwork, and open communication
· Identifying and facilitating professional development and learning opportunities among Career Development Practitioners
· Anticipating and analyzing trends within the Career Development sector
· Exploring research opportunities for the benefit of the career and employment sector
· Developing, complying and sharing collaborative reports across the partnership
· Completing administrative duties and reports as necessary
· Lead internal and external communications strategies, ensuring career practitioners remain informed and engaged while overseeing media relations, public announcements, and stakeholder outreach
Qualifications:
· A combination of post-secondary education / certification, work experience, knowledge and competencies in:
- Career Development Partnership / Community / Organizational Development
- Program Coordination / Administration
- Group Facilitation and presentation skills
- Communications / Information sharing tools and platforms
- Collaborative Leadership
- Program administration
- Strategic Planning
Assets:
· Career Practitioner Certification
· In depth knowledge of the Canadian Career Development Competency Framework, the Code of Ethics, the Competency Profile and the National Certification Program.
· Ability to work within a team environment and independently
· Knowledge and experience with the principles and practice of collaboration
· Experience working with a variety of communication tools like e-newsletters, WordPress website and community of practice platforms

The remuneration for this role is $66,000 to 75,000 annually.
