LH Solar Inc. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Operations Coordinator to support the daily operations, maintenance, and service coordination of residential and commercial microFIT/FIT solar systems.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, coordinating multiple projects, building strong vendor relationships, and working in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for monitoring solar system performance, coordinating service calls, scheduling field activities, communicating with clients, technicians, suppliers, and contractors, and maintaining accurate operational records.
The successful candidate will proactively research and develop a network of reliable solar suppliers, equipment providers, manufacturers, and qualified contractors to support maintenance activities, system repairs, and future project requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to identify solutions while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolar Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor solar system performance using monitoring platforms (e.g., APsystems EMA).
- Identify offline systems, production issues, and communication failures.
- Coordinate troubleshooting with homeowners, electricians, technicians, and manufacturers.
- Assist with ECU setup, monitoring installations, firmware updates, and system reactivation.
- Track service requests from initiation through completion.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and follow up on outstanding service calls.
Project Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate site visits for inspections, maintenance, ECU installations, and service work.
- Coordinate solar panel removal and reinstallation for roof replacement projects.
- Organize project schedules, contractor availability, and customer appointments.
- Ensure required materials and equipment are available before scheduled work.
- Communicate project updates with clients, installers, and internal team members.
Field Support
- Conduct site visits for inspections, documentation, and project support.
- Perform visual inspections of solar panels and related equipment.
- Document site conditions using photos, notes, and reports.
- Assist with equipment inventory and logistics as required.
Roof Replacement & Panel Inspection
- Coordinate panel removal and reinstallation during roofing projects.
- Inspect dismantled solar panels for damage and determine reusability.
- Document deficiencies and coordinate repair or replacement when necessary.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, transportation, and storage of equipment.
Roof Leak & Service Coordination
- Coordinate investigations involving roof leaks associated with solar installations.
- Work with roofing contractors, technicians, and homeowners to determine the cause of issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including photos and service reports.
- Coordinate repairs and monitor project completion.
Operations Administration
- Maintain operational databases, service records, and maintenance schedules.
- Update project tracking systems using Smartsheet, Excel, and Zoho.
- Prepare operational reports and performance summaries.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
- Support inventory tracking and equipment management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Business, Project Management, Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience with Smartsheet, Zoho, or similar project management software is an asset.
- Experience in solar, construction, electrical, roofing, or property maintenance is an asset but not required.
- Willingness to learn renewable energy systems and operational processes.
Supplier & Contractor Network Development
- Proactively research and develop a network of reliable solar suppliers, equipment providers, manufacturers, and qualified contractors.
- Identify trusted vendors and service partners to support maintenance activities, system repairs, and future project requirements.
- Evaluate supplier options based on product quality, availability, pricing, and reliability.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure timely access to equipment, parts, and technical support.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to resolve operational issues and support project completion.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to identify solutions while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle with valid insurance.
- Willingness to travel for occasional field visits throughout Ontario.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs when assisting with field operations.
- Comfortable working both in an office environment and at project sites.
- Must speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese
Travel Coverage
This position primarily supports projects within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with occasional travel to locations across Ontario, including Windsor, Peterborough, Orillia, Chelmsford, Burlington, London, St. Thomas, Amaranth, Bradford, Hamilton, Lindsay, and Dunsford.
Mileage for approved business travel will be reimbursed.
Compensation & Schedule
- Compensation: Minimum wage up to $20.00/hour, based on experience.
- Schedule: Part-time, 2–3 days per week, based on operational requirements.
