About the Opportunity
Landmark Bus Lines is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee daily maintenance operations at our Seeleys Bay facility near Kingston, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on fleet maintenance professional who enjoys leading technicians, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring a safe, reliable, and compliant fleet.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to manage shop workflow while remaining actively involved on the floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support technicians, apprentices, and shop personnel
- Coordinate daily shop workflow, repair priorities, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Provide technical guidance on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Ensure fleet vehicles are safe, reliable, and meet MTO compliance requirements
- Monitor shop productivity, repair turnaround times, and maintenance efficiency
- Support parts ordering, inventory control, and maintenance records
- Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to reduce vehicle downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team
Qualifications
- 310T Truck & Coach Technician License strongly preferred
- 310S Automotive Technician License considered with strong fleet/heavy equipment experience
- Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Fleet Supervisor, or Senior Technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and commercial vehicle repairs
- Understanding of MTO regulations, CVOR requirements, and commercial fleet compliance
- Ability to prioritize multiple repairs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Hands-on leadership style with excellent problem-solving abilities
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following environments is an asset:
- School bus transportation fleets
- Commercial trucking and logistics fleets
- Transit or coach operations
- Municipal fleet maintenance
- Heavy equipment maintenance
