Native Arts and Crafts Shop
Relief / Casual On call
General Activities:
Under the direction of the Native Arts and Crafts Shop Manager of the Cariboo Friendship Society, and subject to its policies and regulations, the Relief Worker will be responsible for overseeing the successful operation of the Native Arts and Crafts Shop of the Cariboo Friendship Society including operating, inventory control, and will be involved generally in the Society’s various activities.
Duties:
1. The Native Arts and Crafts Shop Relief Worker will be responsible for the overall operations of the shop as follows:
· Be responsible for opening and closing of the shop
· Organizing craft displays in the shop
· Recording inventory from supplies, purchasers, and pricing
2. To be responsible for the finances of the shop by:
· Preparing daily cash balances
· Record keeping of all revenue through daily report sheets
3. Reviewing and evaluating ongoing craft items for sale and to recommend changes, if necessary:
· By oral reports to the Craft Shop Manager during supervisory sessions and/or staff meetings
· By keeping accurate records of potential customers of the shop through filing systems, costs, visits, etc.
· By recording any critical incidents on appropriate forms
Qualifications and/or Experience:
1. A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent
2. The position requires some knowledge and experience in the small business industry and/or training in related field
3. Must have the ability to communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing
4. Must maintain professional conduct and abide by the Cariboo Friendship Society’s Code of Ethics
5. Computer knowledge an asset
6. Must submit to a criminal records check

Pay: From $17.85 per hour
