About the Position
Papa Johns at 779 King Street East in Cambridge is hiring Pizza Team Members to join our team. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused position involving food preparation, pizza making, order taking, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
We are looking for team members who are friendly, reliable, willing to learn, and able to work well with others. Previous pizza or quick-service restaurant experience is preferred, but training may be provided to suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare pizzas, sides, and other menu items according to Papa Johns recipes and food-quality standards.
- Stretch dough, apply sauces and toppings, and operate pizza ovens safely.
- Take customer orders accurately in person and over the telephone.
- Process cash, debit, credit card, and online transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Package orders and confirm that all items are accurate before pickup or delivery.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Maintain clean and organized food-preparation, service, storage, and customer areas.
- Wash dishes, sanitize equipment, and complete opening and closing duties.
- Refill ingredients and supplies while following stock-rotation procedures.
- Follow food-safety, workplace-safety, hygiene, and allergen-handling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, delivery drivers, supervisors, and customers.
- Assist with other restaurant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous pizza-making, food-service, retail, or customer-service experience is an asset.
- Pizza restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, food-safety procedures, and workplace policies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset but is not required at the time of application.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the scheduled shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive food-preparation tasks.
- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 18 kg or 40 lb.
- Comfortable working near ovens and in changing kitchen temperatures.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
