Shipper/Receiver

The Shipper/Receiver plays a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and supporting Parts Advisors and Technicians with timely access to the parts they need. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
The Parts Department Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories. This role ensures that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the daily operations of the Parts Department.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
Inspect received parts for accuracy, damage, and shortages, reporting discrepancies promptly.
Accurately process and record all incoming and outgoing inventory transactions in the dealership management system.
Label, organize, and stock parts in designated warehouse and storage locations.
Prepare and package parts for returns, transfers, warranty claims, and customer deliveries.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards and health and safety regulations.
Assist Parts Advisors and Service Technicians by locating and providing requested parts in a timely manner.
Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
Coordinate with vendors, couriers, and internal departments regarding shipments and deliveries.
Operate material handling equipment safely, including pallet jacks and forklifts (where certified).
Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to environmental guidelines.
Support overall Parts Department objectives and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or automotive parts experience preferred.
Familiarity with automotive parts and dealership operations is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer proficiency and experience with inventory management systems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 75 lbs/35 kg) on a regular basis.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
